Running summary

I’m running now more often than before. I used to do an average of 60km to 80km per month, but in July I managed to run 185km! My longest distance in a month according to RunKeeper. I also did my personal best for 10km on the treadmill (44′). Looking forward to the Sabadell Half Marathon in September!

Correr por la mañana

¡Por fin lo he conseguido! Levantarme pronto e ir a correr.

Running in Boston for the ALC Conference

Running in Boston

A couple of days ago I was in Boston, for the Association of Language Companies (ALC) annual conference. It was a great event, both in terms of content and networking. You can find my presentation here, and I also enjoyed a couple of others, that I will summarize soon here.

However, the objective of this post is to show this image I received from Don Shin from 1-stop translation. I run three days there, two of them alone because it was really early in the morning or late afternoon, but the best day was when I could share the training with Don, Saoussanne, and Lynn. Next time, more!

Life is about the people you meet and the things you do with them.

Of course I missed my other team members such as Robert, Tea, and Reinhard, with whom Miami was much more fun.

Who wants to join?

Teams are important

Maybe one way of seeing people in action not at their positions could be an innovative way of recruiting. Running in small groups, for instance. It’s very interesting how they behave, maybe they run too fast, or slow, care for the other member of the team, or follow their own goals. Nothing is totally good or bad, it depends on your company, its long term goal, the people already working there, among many others. Probably, you should take it into account when recruiting. For a SME, getting talent involved is not easy, and you must be 200% convinced.
