On a hurry

It seems that starting the year puts everyone on a hurry. Setting objectives for 2013 and get them done as soon as possible.

Think about it for a while, persistence is much better than urgency, in your life and in your company.

It applies also for long term goals vs. short term objectives.

Maybe is better to fulfill your dreams rather than just the sohrt term satisfaction.

So the objectives are the final goal, but set realistic milestones and try to go step by step.

It’s much better.

3 months to finish 2012. How are you doing with your goals? Only 3 months left to achieve what you had in mind at the beginning of the year, but if you are not somewhere above 65%, be realistic and forget them. Start setting objectives for the next year.

The short term might be necessary to keep the energy up and focus on what is really worth. Your actions determine the outcomes. So having short term objectives can help you prioritize what to do now. On the other hand, long term objectives are necessary so as not to forget that the final success is far more important than the smaller short-term joys. The optimum situation comes when they are aligned, and the little steps lead you to the top. If they disagree, rethink how you build greatness.
